Travel Made Easy – Track Your Travel Finances in Seconds

During my exchange semester in Australia, the task was to develop an app that solves a daily problem. As someone who loves to explore new places, I found managing my spending – especially with different currencies – quite a headache. That’s where Travia comes in. It simplifies the process by automatically converting currencies with up-to-date exchange rates and making it easy to categorize your spendings. With Travia, you get a clear and easy-to-understand overview of your spending through intuitive graphs, making expense tracking a breeze. Whether you’re on a quick getaway or a long adventure, Travia lets you quickly log your expenses – even offline. It’s designed to make travel budgeting effortless, so you can focus on enjoying your journey without worrying about the numbers.

Learnings

Working on this project taught me a lot about understanding different types of travelers and their unique needs. By creating detailed personas and defining target audiences, I was able to tailor the app to fit what various users might be looking for. I also focused on developing style guides to ensure the app had a consistent and user-friendly look, which made the overall experience much smoother. Through this process, I learned just how crucial it is to center design around users and to continuously test and gather feedback. It really reinforced how important it is to keep refining and improving based on real user experiences.
